Things move pretty fast at WyreStorm but the company’s 4K solutions haven’t been rushed out in a frenzy of “me too” bandwagon-jumping. Such patience has allowed the company to implement industry-wide standards, resulting in a 4K line that is optimised for the richest experience today and future-proofed for tomorrow.
After getting its 4K feet wet earlier in the year, WyreStorm has dived right in with a comprehensive new range of HDBaseT and HDMI matrices and splitters — the H2.
So named due to its support of HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 standards — essential elements of the recently ratified 4K standard as set out by associations such as the BDA and UHD Alliance — the WyreStorm H2 range is compatible with the very latest 4K source devices requiring HDCP 2.2 encryption as well as the newly established HDMI 2.0 standard at 18Gb/s.
4K resolutions are supported at both 3840 (UHD) and 4096 (DCI) 2160 at 60Hz with chroma subsampling of up to 4:4:4 for HDMI models or 60Hz at 4:2:0 for HDBaseT up to 70m/230ft for compatibility with new 4K broadcast standards whatever method of distribution is chosen.
Of course its not only what’s on the inside that counts, with H2 matrices boasting a redesigned rear view for transmissions and a fluted aluminium front panel with a repositioned button configuration and bold new LED colour-ways for I/O indication.
